![]() An HP Tuner will allow you to take care of it, but the cost of that tuner is way to high for just shutting off the EGR. The only way to fix that is with a custom tune and it may be hard to come by as most tuners won't shut it off in the computer for fear of being caught and fined by the smog nazis. Even if you don't have emissions testing, you'll get never ending codes for the EGR not working or being there. Without the EGR Valve you'll fail the emissions test if you have them in your state. ![]() The 6.1 heads are also not configured for the EGR Valve like your 5.7 is. like I do, they still won't do that e reference below. Even if you have a cam, headers and a bunch of other mods. The 6.1 heads won't do much for your 5.7 if you're otherwise stock. Last year, when I replaced the cam/lifters on my 6.1, I just had a valve job and 3 guides replaced and it was about $600. milled off them, one for about $1700 and the other for about $2000. On my two 5.7's, I had all new valve seats, replaced quides and valves as needed, ported/polished and. If you're talking just a valve job and check everything out, probably less than $700. If you're talking all new valve seats and a few valve guides (you'll probably need them.all 3 of my Hemi's needed at least 2-3), you should be able to get it done for around $1200 or a little less, including 6.1 valve springs. ![]()
